Bio: Joseph McArthur

Co-Founder and Director, Open Access Button

Joseph McArthur is the Director and Co-Founder of the Open Access Button. He works at the intersection of technology, communities, and activism to advance Open Research and Education. Starting as a student, Joe has grown the Open Access Button into a suite of tools that have been used millions of times to provide the link necessary to translate gains toward Open Access into benefits for both budgets and patrons. Joe is also the Assistant Director of the Right to Research Coalition at SPARC, where he organizes OpenCon, a leading community working with the next generation to advance a diverse, inclusive and equitable open system for research and education.
